Is Your Chip Card Secure? Much Depends on Where You Bank
Brian Krebs wrote an article that explains credit card security. From the article “…a recent series of malware attacks on U.S.-based merchants suggest thieves are exploiting weaknesses in how certain financial institutions have implemented the technology to sidestep key chip card security features and effectively create usable, counterfeit cards.”
Suggested protection from the article “…keep a close eye on your monthly statements, and report any unauthorized transactions immediately. If your institution lets you receive transaction alerts via text message, this can be a near real-time way to keep an eye out for such activity.”
